Pro Training in Athens with Aqua Team
The weekend from 28th of February to the 2nd of March, Aqua Team is conducting a DDI Pro Training course in Athens Greece for diving professionals.
The course teaches the candidates how to teach and dive with disabled divers, using DDI techniques, programs and standards.
After the successful completion of the Pro Training, the DDI Professionals can train and guide disabled divers during their underwater activities.
The program is intended for Divemasters and Instructors from all international training organizations and lasts for approximately 3 days.
Do not give up, but keep on !
An experience from 2009 which I will share with you ...
A little while ago, I was contacted by a father who wanted to start a swimming club for children with muscular atrophy. He has a 10 year old son who has this disability. He contacted me because he was interested in the possibility of setting up a try-dive for these children.
New DDI Adaptive Diver program
As part of the 2014 DDI material updates, we are effective today releasing a new non-professional free when registered scuba diving program to all DDI Assistant Instructors and higher.
The "DDI Adaptive Diver", is an entry level DDI course building on top of regular diving training, designed for disabled diver students and/or their buddies who are learning to scuba dive or recently completed their scuba diving course.
For the student the course teaches him/her how to adapt their own abilities and equipment, before, during or after a scuba/open water diving course from any EUF/ISO certified scuba diving training organization (i.e. DDI, PADI, SSI, NAUI, CMAS, PDA).
First DDI Pro Training course completed using new 2014 v.2.0 manuals
Scuba Cat Diving wins the honorary title of being the first to complete a DDI Pro Training course using the just barely released 2014 Instructor Manual (version 2.0) and 2014 Pro Training materials.
Sarah Kench, DDI Instructor Trainer, conducted a Pro Training course with now two new DDI Pro members, in warm and sunny (max 30 degrees celcius) Patong Beach, Phuket, Thailand.
The course was conducted between the 23rd and 25th of january 2014, with Pro students Emmy Wassenuis, Sweden and Mark Fox, Canada, both now a part of the DDI Professoinal family.
